A vision of my future

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, I see myself working on vaccines in Ghana, my home country. I would be working at the university or at the embassy, using my acquired knowledge and skills to further medicine and healthcare in the region.

In 10 years, I see myself using my resources and whatever acquired wealth I have to sponsor all girls in my home villages to go to school. In a world where women and girls education isn’t valued, I want to use my wealth to support those that are some of the brightest of us.

In 10 years, I imagine a counseling center for women and girls in the villages, a center set up by my mother and my siblings and I. After everything we have been through, we value mental health and wellbeing highly. We have seen what mental illness can do to a person. Persons. A family.

In 10 years I want to make comic books for kids, full time, all the time! I want to inspire youth to keep following their dreams and to never lose sight of hope. Although it may not seem like it there are still some adults that are genuinely fighting for them.

In 10 years, I see a lab, my own lab, in my attic – somewhere with lots of windows and sunlight. We won’t be living in the basement anymore. In the lab I would work on gene and cell therapies with only the most ethical scientists. I’ll hire more people of color than any company, as the visionaries exist among them. I will use my wealth to fund science, research and exploration into the human mind. I want to always be working toward bettering society and I imagine I will ALWAYS be learning, since it’s my favorite thing to do.
