Killer instinct

I may not have it all

I may not have even a little

But I am blessed beyond compare

To be able to write this riddle

A riddle where I ask

What the world would be

If we all had empathy

The capacity to feel another’s pain

That’s how I would change this game

Too many people could look me in the eyes,

See a history of sorrow and heartache

And write it all off like a movie villain we don’t want to accept is two faced

What I want is for all to feel

The pain, the joy and sorrow

Unable to look at a people’s grief and say

Your genocide is not my responsibility , maybe tomorrow

When we destroy Mother Earth so easily

Cause species to go extinct

Humans are the most successful parasite

With nothing but killer instinct
