What aspects of your cultural heritage are you most proud of or interested in?
A proud warrior inhabits each of my bones, deeply ingrained is the will to fight. Not senseless violence, but rather the spirit needed to overcome adversity.
My mother, I watched protect and defend us. Her mother, also a warrior, used to herd cattle. She could fight and defeat men twice her size, by attacking their legs and feet. If one cannot stand, how can they oppress?
My mother and grandmother are watchers. They watch and wait to strike. My mother’s words cut like a sword, taking down her enemies with mere words. Piercingly accurate words.
My heritage has imbued me with similar strengths, I don’t ever mince words, I will tell you what I think, truly. I will fight for what is right, I will fight for my family. Although I am a quiet watcher, I know when to strike. I fight for our freedoms from our oppressors, giving them things to think about
